Princess Bear-A Famous Member of the Ty Beanie Babies
The TY Beanie Babies were popular toys of the late 1900s. These cushy, pliant and pellet-filled soft toys were first released in the year 1993. They wrote an unparalleled saga of success in the toy markets and soon became the favorite choices of both kids and adults. These cuddly animal friends are stuffed with polyurethane beads that made them perfectly soft and stable.
In this article, I shall mention some facts about these stuffed toys.
History:
These TY Beanie Babies were manufactured by the TY Corporation. These playful models were designed by H. T Warner who was skilled at creating stuffed animals. Initially, the animal collection that was first produced had nine animal buddies. They were named as: Spot the Dog, Chocolate the Moose, Flash the Dolphin, Squealer the Pig, Cubbie the Bear, Patti the Platypus, Legs the Frog, Splash the Whale and Pinchers the Lobster.
The Princess Bear Collection:
The Princess Bear was a prominent member of the Ty Beanie Babies. It was designed for the Cubbie Bear Collection. It was inspired by the famous Princess Diana in fact it was one of the items that were permitted by the Princess Diana Memorial Fund. The animal earned surplus profits for the company. A heavy amount of around $2,004,850 was gained in the years 1997 and 1998. This money was donated to the Lady Diana’s memorial fund.
This princess bear was coated in royal blue and purple colors. It had a purple colored collar bow and a white rose pinned on the left side of the chest. The birthday of this fashionable bear was unrecorded. This memorial bear was launched on October 29, 1997. But, soon its production came to an end in April 1993.
Heart-shaped Swing Tags were attached to the ear of the Ty Beanie babies. This unique feature differentiated it from the other counterfeit versions. The original princess bear was labeled with a fourth generation tag.
After some time, a few other modifications were made to this swing tag. These alterations involved, eliminating the golden trimmings around the letters, reducing the size of Ty from the badge of the toy and a phrase “Beanie Original Baby” was added to the bear.
Another tag named the Tush Tag was placed at the bottom of the bear. It had the name of the factory where this amazing piece was manufactured. In addition to this, the label also incorporated some other details like the date of production and the materials used as filling.
Filling:
The TY Beanie Babies came with two kinds of fillings. Similarly, the princess bears were stuffed with PVC and PE pellets. These synthetic beans impart pliability and flexibility to the animals. Therefore, the beanies were flexible enough to be molded into sitting or posing forms.
The Official Princess Poem:
The Princess baby was inscribed with the following poem-
“Like an angel, she came
from heaven above.
She shared her compassion,
her pain, her love.
She only stayed with us long
enough to teach,
the world to share,
to give, to reach.”
Such unique features were the reason behind the huge success and popularity of the Princess Bear. No wonder, this cute and cuddly animal was the best among the other Ty Beanie Babies!
